Brooklyn Child Therapy
We are licensed psychotherapists specializing in individual and group therapy for children and adolescents. Our mission is to help children and families live happier, more harmonious lives.
Our methods
PRACTICE
Person-centered therapy
A non-judgemental approach that accepts a child's reality and provides unconditional positive regard. Goals of this practice include increasing self-awareness, increasing clarity, improving self-esteem, and boosting the child's self-reliance.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In cognitive therapy, the focus is on what people think, and how thought patterns affect feelings and behavior.
Motivational Interviewing
A collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication with particular attention to the language of change. Explores and strengthens personal motivations for behavioral change.
DIR/Floortime
A relationship-based therapy that follows the child's lead, emphasizes emotional development, individual differences, and trusting relationships
Individual therapy
Individual psychotherapy helps children learn about themselves. We work through behavioral, emotional, thought and relational patterns.
Group therapy
Group therapy helps children work through issues by interacting with a therapist and a group of kids working toward similar goals.

TESTIMONIALS
Doloress K.
Therapy has really helped me overcome some past trauma I had been keeping under a lid for a long time. Now, I feel happier and more confident in my life, and feel like I can walk with my head held high.
Anthony M.
Coming from a competitive sports background, the injury that ended up making me give up my career was a hard blow. With therapy, I was able to start building my identity around other things than just sport.
